The Team

The Engineering Platforms team at ING is a dynamic and collaborative group comprising over 18 teams across Manila, India, and the Netherlands. Operating in a hybrid model, our team is responsible for developing, managing, and optimizing ING's Azure platform to support critical banking operations and drive strategic initiatives. With a focus on innovation and autonomy, we work together to achieve long-term goals and deliver impactful solutions in a fast-paced environment.

Job Description

As an Azure Data Engineer within ING's Engineering Platforms team, your primary responsibility will be to lead the design, development, and optimization of data pipelines and transformations, with a focus on leveraging Azure Synapse. This entails spearheading the technical migration from Oracle to Azure, ensuring compliance with banking regulations, and optimizing Azure solutions for profitability analysis. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, you will utilize Azure Data Factory (ADF) and other core services such as Azure SQL Database (ASQL) and Power BI for reporting and visualization, to drive digital transformation and achieve business objectives.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the design, development, and optimization of data pipelines and transformations, focusing on Azure Synapse as the primary tool.
• Spearhead the technical migrations from Oracle to Azure, leveraging Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, and other relevant Azure services.
• Ensure compliance with banking regulations throughout the migration process, mitigating risks and ensuring data integrity.
• Optimize Azure solutions for profitability analysis and data-driven decision-making, utilizing Azure SQL Database for data storage and Power BI for creating dashboards and reports.
• Drive innovation and automation through the implementation of CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code practices, streamlining deployment processes and enhancing operational efficiency.

Ideal Candidate Characteristics

• Minimum 5 years of experience in Azure cloud technologies, with a focus on data engineering and migration projects.
• Proven ability to work effectively in geographically dispersed, cross-functional teams, with strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Deadline-oriented mindset with the flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements and timelines.
• Autonomous and innovative thinker, capable of driving initiatives forward in a dynamic environment.
• Strong understanding of banking regulations and data security standards, with experience ensuring compliance in cloud environments.

• € 5.331,00 - € 6.000,00 gross per month (depending on experience)
