At ABN AMRO we are looking for a Senior IT Engineer to join us in the transformation of our Asset Liability Management (ALM) technology domain. ALM can be described as a bank within the bank, as our department sits at the heart of the bank and is responsible for managing the total balance sheet in relation to interest rate, liquidity, and capital risk.

You’ll be joining a team of versatile engineers and business developers, working in a dynamic and Agile DevOps environment to deliver the best possible results for our stakeholders, who include the board of directors and other business segments of the bank as well as external supervisory authorities like the DNB and ECB.

• Core Domain: The ALM department is crucial within the bank, dealing with critical financial risks such as interest rate, liquidity, and capital risk. This highlights the role's importance and its central position in managing the bank's financial health.

Job Responsibilities

• Varied Tasks: The job involves a broad range of responsibilities, from developing and maintaining systems and data analytics to process automation and stakeholder support. This diversity requires a high level of adaptability and technical skill.
• Technical Focus: Key activities include ETL process design, test automation, operations runs, data analysis, CI/CD pipeline development, incident resolution, and cross-departmental collaboration. These responsibilities underscore the need for a solid technical foundation, particularly in data engineering and DevOps practices.

• Technical Expertise: Mandatory skills include Python, ETL practices, Spark, Azure, data integration tools, SQL, CI/CD pipelines, Git, and testing methodologies. This requirement set positions the role as highly technical, with a specific focus on data engineering and cloud technologies.
• Professional Attributes: The role demands an Agile/DevOps mindset, problem-solving skills, project leadership, effective communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders, and a collaborative approach to work. These attributes indicate a preference for candidates who are not only technically proficient but also adaptable, proactive, and team-oriented.
• Desirable Qualifications: Knowledge of financial products, ALM processes, PowerBI, and proficiency in scripting languages like PowerShell are considered advantageous. This suggests that while the role is deeply technical, understanding the domain-specific context will be highly beneficial.

• Inititial 12 month contract assignment with option to extension
• Hybrid working (on/off-line in the office)
